The St. Catherine Extended Care program provides childcare services before and after school. It is available to all students enrolled at our school. Our program is well organized by a loving and dedicated staff that fosters a family atmosphere in a positive environment. There is time for homework, playing table and board games, playing outdoor games, arts and crafts, and sometimes just sitting, talking, thinking and making friends.

Hours: 7:00 am to 8:00 am and
           2:00 pm (for kindergarten students) to 6:00 pm.

This service is available on days that school is in session and on scheduled teacher
in-service days. Extended Care will typically close at 5:00 pm on the day before a school vacation.  Early closure announcements will be posted on the door. These announcements can also be accessed on the school website.

Before and after school general supervision is provided beginning at 7:45 am and 15 minutes after afternoon dismissal (2:15 pm, 3:15 pm and 12:45 pm).  Any child on campus before 7:45 am or 15 minutes after dismissal will be escorted into Extended Care. Children may not remain on campus unsupervised.

Extended Care closes at 6:00 pm. There is no grace period. There is a $5.00 per minute charge for every minute after 6:00 pm. After the third late pick-up, a meeting with Ms. Esparza must be scheduled by the parents. Your child will not be allowed to return to Extended Care until you have spoken/met with Ms. Esparza. Parents, please pick your child up on time.

Snacks: Extended Care provides a snack and drink each day for each child signed into Extended Care. If your child is a picky eater, please send an extra snack. On Wednesday, please send a lunch. Wednesdays are a 12:30 pm dismissal. Hot lunch is not available on early dismissal days.

Homework Club:  A supervised study/homework time with assigned peer tutors is available for students wishing to work in a quiet supported environment from 3:00-4:00 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Fees: The annual registration fee is $25.00.  This fee is charged only to those families who use Extended Care. Parents need to choose the plan that they will use.  Once a plan is chosen, any changes must be made on or before the 1st of the month.  Any changes made after the 1st will result in a $15.00 fee. There can only be one change per year. Families choosing the monthly plans ($350.00, $285.00) must remain on these plans for an entire year to receive August and June free.  If a change is made from monthly to hourly, you will be billed for the previous August and upcoming June.

• Kindergarten Care between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm only*- 4 days per week is $70.00.
• Kindergarten Care before and after school- 5 days per week is $350.00.
• Grades 1-8 Care before and after school – 5 days per week is $285.00.
• Homework Club – 3 days per week is $72.00,  drop-ins $6/session.
• Drop-in Care for all grades is a per hour rate of $6.00.
  
  *Hours used in excess of this plan will be charged $6.00 per hour.

Monthly Rate: Rates are based on 180 school days throughout the year, not the number of school days in each month.  Payment is figured on nine equal monthly payments from September to May.

• Monthly plan payments begin September 1 and continue through May 1.  These payments are due by the 10th of the month.
• Drop-in use will be billed at the end of the month.  Drop-in statements are issued by the 5th of each month.  Payment is due by the 15th.

A late fee of 10% will charged to the total amount in arrears if payment is not received by the due dates.
