1st Grade
Mrs. Rosie Rinaldo
Biography
This year marks my seventh year teaching in Catholic Schools and I'm excited for my first year here at St. Catherine's! I grew up in San Jose and attended schools in Almaden Valley. I received a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fresno and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and teaching credential from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles (LMU).
I believe that parents are the primary educators, therefore I will be supporting you and equipping your child with the resources and skills needed to succeed in their education. Parents, students, and teachers must work together for the benefit of the child’s success. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, lectoring at church, attending sporting events, and going to (and teaching) U-JAM Fitness and BODYPUMP classes at the gym.
I am truly honored and blessed to be a part of this faith-filled Catholic community at St. Catherine School!

*OTHER NOTES/REMINDERS:
- RAZ-Kids: You will notice that some students are on the same level. I would like them to continue to practice this level in order to pass their next benchmark test. Please have your child read to you at least 10 min. a night. They should read and finish at least (2) books a week at their reading level. If your child is done with their level on RAZ, please read another book from home/library. To help with comprehension, please ask your child questions about what they read.
- WOW Words: Please review these words with your child. A majority of these words are taken from our sight words, high-frequency words, and words around our community. These words will not be tested as a “spelling test” rather they will be need an understanding of these words in order to succeed in their reading and writing activities as well as other academic subjects throughout the year.
